Q: Are you taking safety precautions during COVID 19? Yes, I am Servsafe certified in Connecticut and have my food safety certification in NY. I take food safety very seriously, especially now with Covid. All surfaces are wiped down and sanitized several times a day and gloves are worn while handling food. If you would like contact free delivery please leave us a note at checkout.
Q: Do my cupcakes and cakes have to be refrigerated? We suggest refrigerating them and bringing them to room temperature before serving ( at least 1 1/2 hours for cupcakes and 3 hours for cakes). If you plan to serve them sometime that day there is no need to refrigerate.
Q: I live in Stuytown, but when I checked out there was no delivery option. If you live in Stuytown, PCV or Gramercy you are my neighbor (hello). For delivery orders please choose "pickup" at checkout and leave a note with delivery instructions or email us at thebettercrumb@gmail.com. If you live outside our delivery zone in Manhattan, pick up or Uber Package Pick up are options.
Q: I can't finish them all! Can I freeze and reheat my cookies? Yes! Our cookies freeze very well... just reheat them right out of the freezer on a baking sheet for about 5-7 minutes at 350 degrees. For cakes and cupcakes, just allow them to come back to room temperature, 11/2 hours for cupcakes and 3 hours for cakes.
Q: I ordered cookies to be shipped over the weekend and I still haven't gotten them Monday. We ship weekdays only to ensure your orders get to you fresh the following business day. Orders placed on Friday will usually reach their destination Saturday anywhere in New York. Shipping orders placed after 5:00 p.m. will be shipped Priority the next business day.
Q: Can I have my cookies delivered warm? They may sometimes get to you slightly warm, but usually we like to let them cool first before transporting. If you want them warm, you can simply stick them in the toaster oven and they warm up very nicely. You can always add a note that you want them delivered warm and we will do our best to get them to you quickly.
Q: Do you offer pick up? Yes, If you are outside of our delivery zone in Manhattan please choose the pick up option at checkout and indicate a time. You will receive an email with the pick up address. Remember to allow about 2-3 hours for the cookies to bake and cool enough to transport. When you arrive text me at the number on the email and I will meet you in the lobby.
Do you cater large orders? We do and have catered many parties! Pease e-mail us with specifics at thebettercrumb@gmail.com.
